Shop Service & Facilities Manager

Position Overview: 

Provides supervisory and administrative support as required in areas of fabrication and overhaul of refurbishment of packages.  Provide leadership to Estis management, to ensure shop and facility compliance. 

1 Position Available/ Permanent – Full Time

Location: Midland Texas

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

  • Champions health, safety, environmental and service policies, standards and process improvement
  • Assist in the achievement of meeting company goals and initiatives, profitability and productivity requirements
  • Responsible for the value creation and profitability of assigned area
  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices
  • Empowered to frequently represent Estis to customers, providing technical/operation expertise in response to customer inquires
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to managers and employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes
  • Compile and assure accuracy completing Engine and Compressor inspection reports and other QA reporting
  • Must be able to read, understand and supervise construction of project to engineering drawings and designs.
  • Must fully understand Packaging Standards established by Compressor Manufacturers
  • Knowledge of control panels and Variable Frequency Drives
  • Establish deadlines of jobs relevant to shop activity, and monitors performance on a monthly basis
  • Monitors and communicates monthly shop and facility expenses and adheres to the forecasted amounts
  • Maintain a clean, organized, productive, efficient, and safe workplace through implementing common sense organizational processes, 5S methodology, and daily cleaning systems.
  • Manages all activity of facility to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Hands-on work alongside shop employees on all shop projects to maintain high quality, on time delivery, safety, and cost efficiency
  • Adhere to safety requirements by wearing appropriate protective gear
  • Other various projects and task as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Exhibit strong customer service, interpersonal, coaching and leadership skills
  • Proficient using complete Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and PC skills
  • Strong organizational, planning and scheduling, process management and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical abilities, mechanical aptitude combined and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated record of success
  • Strong Writing skills with technical subject matter and oral communication skills
  • History of credibility in mentoring and forging positive working relationships with the operations team and leadership team
  • Must be able to be “on-call” for emergencies when necessary.
  • Skilled in organization, prioritization and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization
  • Results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • 6+ years of required technical experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to communicate verbally using a telephone
  • Vision required: 20/40 with or without corrective lenses to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens

Working Conditions:

  • Shop Environment with controlled temperatures
  • Subject to outdoor environment with adjusting temperatures and climate
