This course will be conducted by M & J Valve Company. The course will consist of half day in classroom and half day of hands on training.

The classroom instruction will cover basic compression principles and how the valves fit into the process. The compressor valve is more than just a “check valve”. Each valve must be tailored for the conditions in which the valves must perform. Tailoring consists of calculating what parts should be inside the valve, that is, the springs, the plates and the spacers that determine how the valve performs. The nature of valve failures often gives us insight into whether the tailoring is proper for the site conditions.

The hands on portion of the class will consist of disassembling, repairing and reassembling valves that M &J provides. These valve will have problems which will aid in instructing the class in best practices and procedures for proper valve maintenance.
