1041 Emissions
Estis Compression employs state of the art technology to ensure that our compressors meet or exceed the emissions standards set forth by the various government agencies.
The goal of this class is to expose our technicians to the basic rules that we have to operate under, the equipment on our compressors that enable us to meet those standards and how to operate that equipment. We do not have the option to run our compressors in a non-compliant condition. Some of the consequences of non-compliance will be covered in this class.
The first step in the setup of the unit to run in compliance is to acquire a gas analysis of the fuel that the engine is burning. The closer to the engine the better when taking a sample of the fuel gas. The technician will learn how to enter the results of the analysis into Cat or Cummins fuel programs which allows the proper fuel component inputs into the EICS program. With proper set up of the EICS the engine is then capable of meeting emission standards.
The class will learn to properly use a portable analyzer to check the exhaust gases for the level of the pollutants that the EICS is set up to control. There are many things that can cause an engine to not meet the emissions standard. Much time will be spent on troubleshooting the causes of emission failure. The class will learn what corrections can be made to the engine and or the EICS controls to achieve the desired outputs.
